The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks applicants for a position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in the field of Nanophotonics and Chiral metamaterials. Desired skills and attributes of the position include the following:

  • Ability to manufacture chiral metamaterials by utilizing ion-assisted deposition under oblique angles of incidence with the addition of atomic layer deposition for the fabrication of oxidation barriers and the implementation of nanogaps.
  • Ability to perform real-time growth control by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry.
  • Ability to conduct research to determine chirality parameters such as chiral dichroism and the chiral Kuhn factor using optical techniques in reflection and transmission.
  • Ability to perform finite element calculations to support and advance experimental outcomes for chiral metamaterials.
  • Knowledge of measuring and modeling low-symmetry optical anisotropy in chiral metamaterials.
  • International recognition of previous work through publications in highly ranked scientific journals, invited conference talks, scientific awards, and invitations to high-profile network opportunities for emerging scientists.

Requirements

Applicants are required to have the following minimum qualifications:

  • D. in electrical engineering, materials engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • At least one year of postdoctoral experience.
